Charlene Foley Deno HeadshotCharlene Foley Deno is a professor of accounting in the School of Economics and Business. She came to this post in 2014 bringing with her over 25 years of professional accounting experience.

In addition to her teaching, she is a tireless advocate for her students. Charlene works with the Office of Alumni Engagement to bring alumni speakers to campus; she is the co-advisor for the Accounting Society and is a LEAD (student leadership) advisor. Daily, students seek her out for career information, academic advising and internship opportunities.

For the past several years, Charlene has been the main point person for the campus to career program, Backpacks to Briefcases. Taking on an increasingly more complicated and a logistically heavier role each year. The program continues to grow, as it has double in size since 2016, which allows more students to take advantage of such an amazing opportunity to meet with our prestigious alums.

Charlene's professionalism, diligence, dedication to her students, support of the Alumni Association and Fund for Oneonta as well as her humor and easy-going personality make her an excellent candidate for the Current Faculty Outstanding Service Award.
