Climate Change...A Laughing Matter?

Wednesday, April 21, 2021 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM

Join Dr. Yoram Bauman, author of "The Cartoon Introduction to Climate Change," in this innovative springboard for discussion of what we can do as individuals and as society to turn down the heat in our planetary 'composite pile'.

Dr. Bauman is an environmental economist and "the world's first and only stand-up economist". He performs regularly at colleges and corporate events across the country. Dr. Bauman now lives in Salt Lake City but spent the prior two decades in Seattle, where he was the founder of Carbon Washington, which in 2016 placed the first-ever carbon tax measure on the ballot in the United States. He has a BA in mathematics from Reed College and a PhD in economics from the University of Washington. His goals in life are to spread joy to the world through economics comedy; to reform economics education; and to implement carbon pricing.

Registration is required by Tuesday, April 20. A Zoom link will be sent to you prior to the event.

This program is supported by the College at Oneonta Foundation and funded (in part) by the SUNY Oneonta Alumni Association through charitable gifts to the Fund for Oneonta, the A.J. Read Science Discovery Center, a charitable gift from Jean Lown '72, and the Office of Sustainability.

This event will be held virtually.
