Patrick Brown HeadshotPatrick E. Brown is the co-founder of Brown & Weinraub, PLLC, one of New York’s leading Government Relations and Strategic Consulting firms. Before co-founding the firm in 2001, Mr. Brown served in several high-level legal positions in state government. He started his career in 1983, in the New York State Court of Appeals, where he led the in-house legal team. He joined Governor Mario M. Cuomo’s Counsel’s Office in 1987, where he provided legal and public policy counsel to the Governor and his senior staff.

In 1983, Mr. Brown received his Juris Doctorate summa cum laude from Pace University School of Law. He currently serves as the chair of the SUNY Oneonta College Council, a position he has held since his appointment by Governor David Paterson in 2008. For many years, he has served on the Advisory Board of the Government Law Center of Albany Law School. In addition, Mr. Brown served on the Town of Coeymans Zoning Board of Appeals and was elected to the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk School Board in 2013, where he served a 3-year term.

Mr. Brown chaired the search for SUNY Oneonta’s seventh president, leading to the appointment of the second female candidate in the 130-year history of the college. He is also chair of the current search for SUNY Oneonta’s newest president. In addition, he has been part of the SUNY Oneonta commencement stage party for many years showing his heartfelt passion for SUNY Oneonta to our graduates and their loved ones.

For 40 years, Patrick Brown has been married to Mary Partridge-Brown, a young lass he met in Denison Hall in 1975. They have 3 daughters and live in the idyllic foothills of the Helderberg Mountains with their golden retriever Archimedes (Archie to his friends).
