Scholarships

The SUNY Oneonta Alumni Association is proud to support student success by annually providing over $82,000 in student scholarship support. The scholarships are awarded to full-time undergraduate students who excel in the classroom and distinguish themselves as leaders.

Selection is based upon a variety of criteria, including academic excellence and service to the college and community. The scholarships are awarded annually in the spring semester to full-time undergraduate students who excel in the classroom and distinguish themselves as leaders. Students must have completed one semester at SUNY Oneonta. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required. The recipient must have paid the Undergraduate Alumni Fee.

The application period for 2019-2020 scholarships will be open Monday, September 9. You will have until October 6, 2019 to submit your application and all required materials.

Applications can be filled out below starting September 9, or a PDF can be printed, filled out, and returned to the Office of Alumni Engagement at 118 Alumni Hall after that date. If you have questions please contact the Office of Alumni Engagement at 436-2526 or by emailing alumni@oneonta.edu

To qualify for the Alumni Association Scholarship you must have paid the Undergraduate Alumni Fee that appeared on your tuition bill.

Applicant's are required to submit a copy of their resume with their application.

(resume includes academic honors, activities, leadership positions, volunteer service, professional employment history, and other experiences)

Applicant's statement can be copied and pasted above, or you can email a pdf to alumni@oneonta.edu, or drop off a hard-copy to the Office of Alumni Engagement. (Your personal statement should be a 500-word essay that describes the importance of receiving this scholarship, the campus activities in which you are involved in, campus and/or community organizations which you volunteer, and your future goals.)

One letter of reference in support of your application from a faculty member or college administrator is required.
(You, or the faculty member, must email a pdf of the reference letter to alumni@oneonta.edu or mail/hand deliver it to the Office of Alumni Engagement at 118 Alumni Hall.)
