Alumni Weekend FAQ

 

Why is Alumni Weekend moving virtual?
As the global pandemic continues, our office worked with campus, community and alumni partners to make this difficult decision. With our alumni coming into town from different municipalities, states, and countries the safety of all was our largest factor. We had hoped that vaccinations and other travel restrictions would have been different by this time but we are SO looking forward to when we can be in person again.

Can I receive a refund?
Yes. To request a refund or to apply your payment to a future SUNY Oneonta Alumni Association event, please email the Office of Alumni Engagement alumni@oneonta.edu. Please be sure to indicate which of these options you would like in the body of your email. 

What about the awards ceremonies?
Our plan is to offer a virtual Annual Awards Celebration on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 to kick off our Founder's Week celebrations. Our Alumni of Distinction presentation of honors has been postponed until fall 2021, and we will have up-to-date information on this announced in June.

When can I register for virtual Alumni Weekend?
On Monday, March 15th an email will be sent out to all alumni inviting them to register for the event. All those that register will receive a package that will be individualized based on what each person registers for.

Are virtual events planned so I can connect with my classmates?

How do I receive a refund from my hotel?
Each of the hotels we worked on getting blocked rooms at have a cancelation policy directly reflecting their hotel brand and COVID-19 protocols. We recommend that you contact the hotel directly and their contact information can be found by going here: https://oneontaalumni.com/reunionlodging.

When will Alumni Weekend 2022 be announced?
You can already save the date as June 10-12, 2022. We will send a formal invitation this fall.
