This panel was moderated by Monica Grau '88, Interim Director of Resiential Life and Director of New Student Services at SUNY Oneonta.

Join fellow alumni, students and faculty for this session of Backpacks to Briefcases which covers the many aspects of project management. Remi Farnan '15 Assistant Project Manager, Sciame Construction; Tom Glennon '09 Director- Project Management, Live Nation Entertainment, and Drew McKay '05 Project Manager, Hunter Roberts Construction share wisdom and insights about project management in general and how it specifically relates to the business they are in. With many simliarities, and just as many differences, you will learn more than you ever could have imagined about their challenging role.

Elizabeth also talks about how she had to pivot her way of doing business due to COVID-19 and how she’s keeping her store running during these trying times. Maria Mateo from human resources introduces SUNY Oneonta alumni: Larry Pestana ’11 Regional Operations Director in Boston, Stiven Hunter ‘17 Operations Support Manager for WeWork Account who talk about their work at ABM across NYC, Boston and Upstate New York to meet their mission to “make a difference, every person, every day.”

 

 

 


This semester's eMpowerment Monday is inspired by the six steps for success from Kinky Boots. The program has special guest speakers interspersed with coaching sessions from our friends at Collegiate Empowerment. The kickoff will be a discussion between Hal Luftig ’79, Tony Award winning producer of Kinky Boots and Jerry Mitchell, Tony Award winning director and choreographer. Kinky Boots is a shining example of how theater can inspire social change.
