Alumni Weekend HQ
Check-in for the weekend officially begins! HQ is your go-to spot for information, problem-solving, and all things Alumni Weekend. Have questions about an event or need directions? We’ve got you covered! While you’re here, pick up your name badge, Alumni Weekend schedule, and a free gift from the Alumni Association.Pick Up & Access: Name badges and tickets must be picked up at Alumni Weekend Headquarters in Alumni Hall and are required for event entry.

Name Badge Perks: Your badge gets you into all Alumni Weekend events and unlocks special pricing at select downtown merchants. Find the list of participating merchants at HQ or online on the Alumni Weekend website.
Tickets: Tickets are NOT transferable to ensure accurate attendance and a secure event.
Refunds: To receive a full refund, you must cancel your registration by May 23, 2025. To request a refund or apply your payment to a future SUNY Oneonta Alumni Association event, please email the Office of Alumni Engagement at alumni@oneonta.edu. Be sure to indicate which option you prefer in the body of your email.
While visiting HQ, don’t miss the chance to create a Red Dragon of your very own! Perfect for all ages, this fun activity costs just $10 and provides a lifetime of memories with your new friend, Red. Registration is required, so secure your Dragon Kit and get building!

7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. - Academic Achievement Awards 2025
Join us in celebrating academic excellence during Alumni Weekend with a special exhibition: the Alumni Student Recognition Book Awards honoring SUNY Oneonta’s 2025 Academic Achievement Award recipients. This meaningful display is located on the library’s first floor. Each honored student has their name inscribed on an Alumni Association bookplate placed inside a contemporary library book related to their major—creating a lasting legacy of achievement and inspiration.

5:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. - Libations in the Lobby
Calling all Red Dragons in Tobey Hall! Gather for a beverage in the lobby before heading downtown to your old haunts. Reminisce and share what you are looking forward to most this Alumni Weekend!
6:30-8:00 p.m. - Class of 1975 Pizza Party
Calling all 1975 alumni and friends! Kick off Alumni Weekend in style with a fun and casual pizza party with a cash bar. Reconnect, reminisce, and enjoy great company as you catch up with classmates, friends, and invited guests. Don’t miss this chance to celebrate and make more memories together! Registration Required. $20.
FRIDAY, JUNE 6, 20257:00 a.m. - Golf Tournament
Join SUNY Oneonta alumni and friends at the Oneonta Country Club for a day of captain and crew golf. The day begins at 7 a.m. The tournament kicks off with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. If you do not have a team, we will match you with other players. Prizes will be awarded at the luncheon. Registration is required. $100. Breakfast buffet, Lunch, and a $5 voucher to the Pro Shop are included for tournament participants. Guests can attend the luncheon by registering separately.

10:00 a.m. - Otsego Lake Tour - Session 1
Spend the morning in Cooperstown discovering the secrets of Otsego Lake aboard the research vessel Anodontoides, where you will learn about advances in lake science that are changing the way we live, work, and play. Note: The boathouse is a 45-minute drive from the SUNY Oneonta campus. Registration is required.
10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. - A.J. Read Science Discovery Center
Check out the A.J. Read Science Discovery Center — SUNY Oneonta’s very own hands-on science center! Explore live weather data and other planets on the OmniGlobe projection system; explore clean energy with the new solar power exhibit; and build your own robot at the modular robotics station. Student interns will be on-site to guide you on your journey of discovery. The center also features comfortable couches, providing a place to rest during your fun-filled weekend.
11:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. - Tennis and Pickleball Tournament
Join us for the annual Alumni Weekend Tennis Tournament, now with an exciting addition — pickleball! Bring your racquets; we’ll provide the balls and prizes. This event is run by Bill Bogatz ’74 and Howie Schwartz ’78. For more information, contact Bogatz at econ@optonline.net. Please register in advance to help us accommodate all participants.
11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. - Student Art - 2025 Capstone Exhibition
Stop by the Martin-Mullen Gallery, located within the Fine Arts Building, and pick up a free keepsake. All pieces in this exhibition were created by students in the Studio and Digital Capstone courses during the Spring 2025 semester.
12:00 - 4:00 p.m. - Relive and Remember the Past — Alden Room Open Hours
Furniture from Old Main, memorabilia, yearbooks, student newspapers, and other treasures will be on display and available for browsing in the Alden Room, 300 Milne Library. Enjoy the ambiance and comfortable seating as you reminisce with friends. Heather Stalter and the Special Collections Team will be available to welcome guests.
12:30 p.m. - Golf Luncheon
A luncheon for participants and their guests caps off the Golf Tournament. Lunch is included for tournament participants; guests can join them for an added fee. Registration is required. Early Bird: $25. After May 23: $30.

Bring your walking shoes for a 45-minute guided walk to see how the campus has changed yet retained its traditional beauty. The tour leaves promptly from Alumni HQ and includes a look at the newly renovated Alumni Hall. This event is on a first-come, first-served basis.
3:00 – 5:00 p.m.- Shapeshifters: Bodies Like Water Reception
Join us at the Martin-Mullen Gallery for light refreshments and to celebrate Shapeshifters: Bodies Like Water, a powerful collection of stories on transformation, resilience, and identity published by Ira Baumgarten ’73 and Nadine Trombly Baumgarten ’74 of Buddy’s Bench Press. This event invites you to explore art and storytelling that redefine boundaries and celebrate adaptability. Don’t miss this inspiring afternoon of art and conversation!
3:00 - 6:00 p.m. - SOURS @ the Fox
Relive the good old days and join us for an Oneonta tradition: SOURS @ the Fox!! This event is open to all alumni, so come catch up with old friends and make new ones. Whether you’re reminiscing about your time at Oneonta or just looking to enjoy good company, this event promises fun and plenty of Red Dragon spirit. Registration is required.
4:00 - 5:00 p.m. - Alumni Association Annual Meeting
Alumni Association Board President Alice Maggiore ’10 invites you to join us for the Alumni Association Annual Meeting, which will include updates from the Alumni Association Board of Directors and the election of new Board members. All alumni are encouraged to attend.
4:30 p.m. - Fed Challenge Reunion Kickoff at Roots
Start the weekend with a casual gathering, great food, and even better company!
6:30 - 8:30 p.m. - Cans ‘n’ Clams
Kick off Alumni Weekend with this fan favorite! The all-you-can-eat dinner will transport you to the shores of New England with a menu that includes steamed and fried clams, clam chowder, various sliders, coleslaw, and desserts. The first two beer or wine beverages and all non-alcoholic beverages are included; a cash bar will be available. Registration is required. Early Bird: $45; Early Bird Guest: $45; Early Bird Child (under 12): $15. After May 23: $50; Guest: $50; Child (under 12): $15.
8:00 - 10:00 p.m. - Return to the RAT
End the night with a trip down memory lane at the Rathskeller Pub for its Alumni Weekend Revival! View the beautiful brick garden on the patio while enjoying light refreshments. Share memories of when Hunt Union had its very own bar and reminisce about your college years. A cash bar will be available.

9:00 - 10:30 a.m. - Alumni Celebration Breakfast
Join your fellow alumni — along with faculty, staff, and friends — as we celebrate our 2025 Alumni Association Award winners and a successful year of alumni-led initiatives, partnerships, and programming. Hear how alumni volunteers have enhanced the Red Dragon experience on campus and beyond. The Class of 1975 will be recognized. Registration is required. Early Bird: $15. After May 23: $20.
9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. - Oneonta Farmers Market
Visitors will find delicious, locally grown farm products from the field to the table.
10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. - A.J. Read Science Discovery Center Self-Guided Tour

Since its launch by the Class of 1975, the Red Dragon BBQ has become a highlight of Alumni Weekend. Partnering with the renowned Brooks’ Family Restaurant, this event brings their legendary menu to campus! Enjoy your choice of Brooks’ famous dishes, music, and games. And don’t forget to visit the dessert table. Registration is required.

Unleash your creativity and show off your Red Dragon pride! Join us for Red Dragons Rock, a fun and relaxing rock-painting activity during the Red Dragon BBQ. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or just want to enjoy some colorful fun, this event is perfect for all ages.
Paint your favorite SUNY Oneonta memories or inspiring messages, or simply enjoy the process of creating. Your rock masterpiece can become a keepsake or part of a collaborative display celebrating our alumni community.

1:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. - Oneonta PrideFest 2025
Oneonta Pridefest brings color and celebration to Main Street Oneonta! Hosted by the Oneonta Pride Alliance (OPA). Featuring a Parade, Festival, Drag show, and more! Parade Starts at 1:30 PM, Festival Fun from 2:00 – 8:00 PM, featuring a fabulous Drag show you won’t want to miss! Come out and show your pride!
2:00 p.m. - Class of 1980 Hike to Table Rock
Reconnect with classmates and enjoy the beautiful landscape on a hike to Table Rock, located just behind Hartwick College. It’s a perfect way to reminisce, catch up, and take in the stunning views. Don’t miss out on this fun outdoor gathering! Registration is required.

2:00 - 4:00 p.m. - Back to School: A Walk Through History of Bugbee School and Teachers’ Lounge Gathering
Step back in time and reconnect with SUNY Oneonta’s rich legacy. Join fellow alumni for a nostalgic journey through the historic Bugbee School building, once a cornerstone of teacher training and development.
Enjoy guided tours showcasing Bugbee’s unique role in shaping educators; explore a curated exhibit of memorabilia, photos, and classroom artifacts from its era; and gain a glimpse into early education in Oneonta. Share your own school memories on our collective Memory Wall and relax in the recreated Teachers’ Lounge, a space designed for mingling with old friends and making new connections.
This drop-in event, sponsored by the Netzer Society, offers flexibility — come and go as you please while savoring an atmosphere of nostalgia and camaraderie. Registration is required.

The Class of 1975 will gather and toast to friendships started 50-plus years ago. Champagne and sparkling grape juice will be provided. A class photo will be taken at 3:45 p.m., so please arrive by that time to be included. Enjoy a special performance by your classmate Sam Rosenberry ’75, who will be playing the bagpipes in celebration of this milestone reunion. Members of the celebrating class and their invited guests only. Registration is required.
4:00 - 6:00 p.m. - Classes of 1979, 1980, and 1981 Social
Catch up with fellow classmates and relive old memories at the Classes of 1979, 1980, and 1981 Social! Join us for an evening of laughter, reminiscing, and reconnecting with friends from your Oneonta days. A highlight of this event will be live music performed by our very own Class of ’80 graduate and professional musician, Corey Spector '80. Whether you’re sharing stories from the past or making new memories together, this gathering promises good company, great conversations, and plenty of Red Dragon spirit. Cash Bar.
